How to Bulk Import Used Audi A3 from China/Europe: A Step-by-Step B2B Guide

Short answer: confirm your country's import rules first, then source young cars with verified history, inspect every unit, choose FOB or CIF and Ro-Ro or container, and pay against clear documents. The steps below apply whether you source from China or Europe; our own supply is from China.
Step 1 — Which import rules apply to used cars?
Check age limits, emission standards, steering requirements, conformity certificates, duties and taxes with your customs broker. These rules decide which model years you can buy. Our market pages list the main points per country.
Step 2 — Choose model years and specification
For the A3, 2023–2024 cars use the 150 PS 1.4 TFSI and 2025 cars the 160 PS 1.5 TFSI. Decide on Sportback or Limousine, and keep trims and colours flexible — flexibility makes volume sourcing faster and cheaper.
Step 3 — How do you verify a used car's history?
- Match VIN, build date and mileage with the vehicle documents
- Ask for photos and a video of the exact unit
- Review a condition report covering bodywork, tyres and interior
- Use independent third-party inspection for large orders
Step 4 — FOB or CIF?
With FOB you book ocean freight yourself from the Chinese port; with CIF the seller includes freight and insurance to your port. Both are defined in the ICC Incoterms® 2020. First-time importers often prefer CIF for simplicity; experienced importers with freight contracts may prefer FOB.
Step 5 — Ro-Ro or container?
| Ro-Ro | Container | |
|---|---|---|
| Typical use | Larger volumes on regular routes | Smaller lots, mixed loads |
| Protection | Open deck | Sealed, lashed inside |
| Port need | Ro-Ro service | Container terminal |
Step 6 — Documents and payment
Expect a proforma invoice before payment and, at shipment, the commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and export declaration, plus a certificate of origin if needed. Pay the balance against documents as agreed on the PI. See our full export process.
Step 7 — Plan the next order
After the first shipment, review what sold fastest and adjust trims and colours. Long-term partners get supply planned in advance. Talk to our B2B manager about fleet solutions.
